Saudi Customs "Fasah" Protocol
The mandatory digital gateway for moving personal effects from UAE to Saudi Arabia.
What is Fasah?
Fasah is the official Saudi Customs "Single Window" system. It allows you to electronically authorize your moving company to clear goods on your behalf at the Batha border. Without this authorization, your truck will be turned back.
Why This Matters
The Dubai-to-Riyadh moving route is strictly regulated. Failing the Fasah procedure results in:
- Trucks stuck at the border for days
- Daily demurrage (holding) charges
- Confiscation of prohibited items
- Requirement to travel personally to the border
Step-by-Step Fasah Registration
Unlike moving within UAE, an international move to KSA requires proactive digital paperworkbefore the truck is loaded.
Create Your Account
Go to Fasah.sa. You typically need an active Absher account (Saudi digital ID) to login. If you haven't moved to KSA yet, you may need your sponsor to initiate this.
The "Authorization" Tab
Navigate to "Create Authorization". This is where you legally allow the clearing agent (provided by your mover) to handle your shipment.
Input Agent Details
Enter the Customs License Number of the clearing agent. Your moving coordinator will provide this specific 10-digit number.Do not guess this number.
Documents Required for Fasah
| Document | Why it's needed | Format |

Fasah & Customs FAQs
Can I do the Fasah authorization before I arrive in KSA?
Yes, but you usually need an activate Absher account. Many clients fly to KSA first to activate their Iqama/Absher, then authorize the move.
Is duty charged on personal effects?
Used personal effects are generally duty-free if you can prove they have been used. New items in original packaging may attract 15% VAT + Custom Duties.
What items are strictly prohibited?
Alcohol, pork products, religious texts contrary to Islam, statues/figurines, and drones. Discovery of these can lead to shipment confiscation and fines.
How long does the border crossing take?
With correct Fasah documents: 24-48 hours. Without them: Indefinite delays.
