Most moving companies require claims to be reported within 24-48 hours for visible damage, and up to 14 days for concealed damage discovered after unpacking. Check your contract for specific timeframes.
You can still file a claim for concealed damage discovered later. Document everything immediately upon discovery and contact the mover. However, claims are stronger when damage is noted at delivery.
Basic liability coverage is weight-based (AED 2-5 per kg), not value-based. A 10kg TV worth AED 5,000 might only be covered for AED 50. For valuables, upgrade to full replacement coverage.
Some home insurance policies cover belongings during a move. Check with your insurance provider before relying on this, as coverage varies and deductibles may apply.
