Yes, you are legally required to update your Emirates ID address within 30 days of moving to a new residence. Failure to do so can result in fines and complications with visa renewals. Apply through ICP smart services online or visit an Amer center.
Each bank requires separate notification. Most UAE banks allow address updates through online banking or mobile apps. Log into each account, go to profile settings, and update your contact information. Some banks may require you to visit a branch with proof of address.
You need your current Emirates ID, new Ejari certificate (tenancy contract registration), and a recent passport-size photo. The process can be done online through ICP smart services or at an Amer center. Processing takes 3-5 business days.
While not strictly mandatory immediately, it is recommended to update your driving license address within 30 days. This is important for official correspondence from RTA and for any traffic violations to be sent to the correct address.
For DEWA, you can transfer your account online or through the app - your deposit moves with you. For internet (Du/Etisalat), request a transfer 1-2 weeks before your move. District cooling requires contacting the provider directly (Empower or Tabreed).
Having multiple active Ejari registrations can cause issues with DEWA connection and visa renewals. Always cancel your old Ejari before or immediately after registering the new one. Your landlord can also cancel it from their side.
