Disconnection Process

Schedule Disconnection

Contact DEWA at least 3 days before moving out. You can do this online through DEWA website, mobile app, or by calling 04-601-9999.

Submit Documents

Provide Emirates ID, tenancy contract end date, and property details. If you're the account holder, ensure final bills are settled.

Final Meter Reading

DEWA will take final meter reading on your chosen date. Be present if possible, or provide access. Take your own photos as backup.

Settle Final Bill

Pay any outstanding balance. Your security deposit (typically AED 2,000-4,000) will be refunded within 7-10 business days to your bank account.

Apply for Connection

Apply online (dewa.gov.ae), through app, or visit DEWA customer center. Application can be done 2-3 days before moving in.

Submit Required Documents

Valid passport/Emirates ID, tenancy contract, title deed (if owner), and NOC from landlord (if applicable). Upload scanned copies online.

Pay Security Deposit

Apartments: AED 2,000, Villas: AED 4,000. Payment via credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. Deposit is refundable when you leave.

Connection Activation

Services activated within 1-2 business days. You'll receive account number via SMS/email. Download DEWA app to manage bills and usage.
